2 Chamber Bat House
Bats don’t get enough credit for all the good they do. Each bat can eat up to 3,000 garden pests and mosquitoes in a single night (no pesticides needed!). And contrary to what you might see in the movies, bats are actually quite friendly neighbors, as they prefer to keep to themselves during the day.
This bat house is handcrafted from FSC® certified wood and sealed with a nontoxic, water-based finish. The narrow entrances mimic the natural gaps found between bark and tree trunks. By providing a bat house you’re helping to conserve and protect local bat populations.
Mount on the side of a building or on a pole 3.6–6 m (12–20 ft) off the ground, facing East or South for maximum sunlight. Sunlight is important to keep the bats warm.
Do not mount to a tree, as this is where natural predators live.
Make sure there is a water source within a quarter mile of your bat house—pools, ponds and garden fountains make excellent sources.
Give it time. If properly placed, bats may take up to one year to find and occupy their new home
If bats haven’t settled after a year move to a new location
